About my life and work

I started out in Philadelphia, and as many families did at the time, moved across the river to the suburbs of New Jersey in the mid fifties. I attended school there and was usually the "best artist" in my school, without much serious competition. When I graduated from high school, I enrolled at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York, where there was a lot of serious competition. It was a somewhat rude awakening. I graduated in 1969 with a degree in Industrial Design and then married and taught art in elementary school until I had my family.

My second husband and I left New Jersey after our children were out of public school and moved to Dana Point, California, where we lived for 12 years. During that time, I attended California State University at Fullerton and received a Master of Fine Arts in painting and drawing. This was when I developed the style of painting that you see now.

The years after California have been quite an adventure. I lived in Greece for three years and then Dubai for two. I am now happy to be back in the States, close to my children and grandchildren. All of my travel experiences; living in two foreign countries and traveling to many others have become a part of my work. Look for it in my colors and designs as you view the work.
